Discount Bamboo Flooring - What's the catch?

Discount flooring is available from many of the online flooring vendors, but it will pay to spend some time searching for the best deals. It makes sense that you should want to take care when buying flooring that has been discounted to be sure that you are not getting a second quality product, for this could be one of the reasons why it is being offered at a low price in the first place. However, there may be numerous other reasons why a supplier is offering their perfect floor products at a cheap price, so consumers need not necessarily feel that what they are buying is of inferior quality to the higher priced floors. In fact, looking carefully at what discounters have to offer can be the smartest way to get a high value floor at a low price.

Bamboo Flooring Samples & Brands

While there isn't always a catch involved in buying a discount bamboo floor, it is always best to check for any small print when making your bamboo flooring purchase to make sure that it is not excluded from any defect warranties. If a floor has had its warranty voided, don't be afraid to ask the vendor why. It could be that they received a batch that was, for example, poorly finished which probably wouldn't mean that it was full of imperfections, just that it might take a bit of extra work when installing it. In such a case, ask what will be required from you to get the floor looking its best.

Whatever your situation, always be sure to check the return policy on a bamboo floor that is being sold at a cheap price. Sometimes it will not be possible to return or get a refund for any reason whatsoever if it has been sold very cheaply. In the majority of cases you should be fine if you choose a reputable floor dealer, for they will put a high value on repeat business and won't want to sell you something cheap without letting you know why, or under what terms you are buying, for fear of losing your future custom.

Low priced flooring, high priced delivery!

If you are having your supplier deliver your discount floor, always check before purchasing to make sure that the delivery charges are not higher than they should be. A tactic that is sometimes used by unscrupulous dealers is that they will sell you their product at discount pricing but then apply hidden charges that may mean paying  double or more for shipping which can effectively cancel out any discounts you have received. Some suppliers may state that they will deliver your floor purchase for free, but check to make sure this offer extends to discounted items too.

Where to buy a discounted bamboo floor

By looking around on the internet you will probably be able to quickly find several suppliers of discounted  bamboo wood flooring, all at varying prices. Convenience certainly comes in to the equation when buying online. Flooring stores are often located far apart meaning that unless you live near to one you may have to travel considerable distance to look at the available ranges.

If you do live near a store selling flooring we recommend making a visit to look at what is available. Be sure to take notes of brands, pricing and style and color options, then return home to check out some of the online vendors to compare all the data that you have collected. As the online stores have much lower overheads it is more than likely that you will be able to get the exact same floors at a far lower price than you have seen in your local store. The savings can soon add up, especially as flooring is normally sold by the square foot. All in all it will add up to one big discount at the end of the day.

A final point to consider when buying discounted bamboo flooring

Sometimes a vendor may be having a closeout with some remnants of stock. This can be an ideal way of getting a discount on a new floor but, depending on how much stock is available, you might be limited in the amount you can buy. At the very least, you should buy an amount that is sufficient to cover the full area of the room or space that it will be installed in. Additionally, when buying end of line stock it will pay to buy a little extra just in case your floor is damaged in the future, requiring a part of it to be replaced. Be prepared for any such eventuality.
